potty training

after m started waking up dry in the mornings, we decided that it was finally time to potty train.  we'd tried before, but the stubborn little miss wouldn't have anything to do with it.

we got her day trained in about a week and she basically trained herself at night.  we kept her in pull-ups at night for about a week, but she never had any accidents!

so glad that hurdle is over and done with.
[love] only having one in diapers.

one month

this little guy is one month old!  i can't believe it - time sure flies.

at one month he:
-smiles. for his dad.
-hates his crib
-has slept through the night. once.
-loves being on his tummy.  actually, he prefers it.
-is long and skinny.  we're hoping the length thing is here to stay.
-is a good nurser, although he sure takes his sweet time.
-did i mention he hates his crib?
-hates to be swaddled.  i can't wrap my head around this one.  the girls loved it!

we took him in to get circumcised at a week old.  both the mister and i decided we couldn't be in the room with him, so we sat out in the waiting room.  they brought him out a couple minutes later and little man wasn't even crying.  they said he didn't even whimper, let alone cry.  he is such a sweet boy and i can't get enough snuggles from him!

we sure love this little guy!

m's first haircut

this little missy needed a haircut - bad.
she had the little mullet thing going on and her hair was driving me nuts.

and since they won't let us take a picture of one and not the other:

m's new face

meet m's new favorite face to pull:

it makes me crack up every time she does it.
so cute.

for those of you who still think my daughter doesn't cry...here's the after the fact proof:

and can you see her little teeth?
they FINALLY broke through a couple days before she turned 9 months.

i'm hoping every tooth isn't as traumatic as those were to get.

first smiles

i'm returning from my unintentional blogging hiatus.

apparently i haven't downloaded any pictures from my camera since the middle of february.

she walks!

...kinda.
this last weekend we got to have grandma and grandpa m come and visit us.
she decided to take her first steps on saturday while they were here.
(and we were all lucky enough to see them!)
we took the video on sunday and she's just getting better from there.
she still prefers to crawl (she's a scaredy cat).
one of these days, i think she's just going to take off running (maybe literally!)

thanks grandma and grandpa for coming to visit us!
we had a lot of fun!

crawling videos

i finally took some videos of her crawling.
enjoy!

changes

it's amazing how fast a baby can change and do new things.
b started to get the concept of crawling over thanksgiving.
now, she's everywhere.
if i take my eyes off her for two seconds she's halfway across the room.
i've learned pretty quickly what i can and can't leave on the floor.
the day after christmas, she finally mastered sitting up from a laying position.
she had been trying so hard to sit up and she finally did it.
it was so cute.
she's a pro on that now too.
she also cut her two bottom teeth over christmas vacation (for my own record, december 29th.)
she started pulling herself up on things over christmas vacation too.

this was her first pull into standing position.
you can see she had help from the little ledge below her.

i love this picture!
no, she doesn't have a majorly saggy diaper.
it looks like i just changed her diaper and she got away before i got her onesie done back up.

this was tonight.
she pulled herself up all by herself - no help needed!
now i have to make sure there's nothing on my couches.

this is my "evil" child.
between her mouth and eyebrows, she looks evil to me!

more laughs!

this is for the grandma's.
now you can listen to her laugh until your heart's content!

for awhile now she's been rolling from her back to her front, but couldn't figure out how to get her arm out from underneath her.
eventually, she would just give up and roll back over.
yesterday, she finally figured out how to get her arm out from under her.
today, she's been continually rolling over and then after a few minutes she screams because she wants on her back again, but won't roll back over.
i don't even know how many times i've had to roll her back.
