halloween

October 31, 2011

this year for halloween, the girls were princesses.
as always, when we're in a hurry, they don't cooperate for pictures very well.
these were the best we got.

and this was how it ended:

we went down to the church for trunk or treat.
it was cold this year - i'll blame it on that nasty wind.
hope you all had a happy halloween!

happy halloween!

happy halloween!

this was as good as it got for pictures.
it was 9:00 and bedtime, so no cooperation on m's part.

b was a ballerina for halloween this year.

she won't hold still for anything anymore!

pumpkin carving

not quite sure what to do with the pumpkin

digging in after some coaxing from the mr.

here's our little "girly girl" who doesn't like having anything on her fingers longer than necessary.
"ewww, dad!  get it off!"

finished product

dad's, mom's, b's and a small pumpkin for the little sister

playgroup

yesterday, we went to playgroup.
it was going to be a halloween party and the kids were supposed to go dressed up.
i didn't get b a costume this year because she's too little to go trick-or-treating
okay and i'm too cheap to buy a costume and don't have a sewing machine or time to make one.
i remembered seeing a costume in the stuff my sister-in-law gave me, so i went in search of it.
she has a baby that was born in july last year, so my deductive reasoning when i've looked at it before was that it would fit b too, because her cousin would've been 3 1/2 months around halloween and she's 5 1/2 months, right?

wrong.
i dig out the costume and look at the tag and it's labeled 3m.
so i hold it up and think, "maybe i can squeeze her into it."
so of course, i tried.
it was too small.
so i took pictures and then took it back off.
we went to the party costumeless.
here's a picture of her in the costume though:
yes, for those of you asking, she's in a tigger costume.
some of you know how much i hate winnie the pooh
okay, okay.
i don't hate winnie the pooh, i actually like winnie the pooh, i'm just not a big fan of my child advertising for them - or any other character for that matter.
(i'll stop before i get going on that topic)
she does make a pretty cute tigger though, doesn't she?
this is how we ended up going to the costume.
she is so stinkin' cute.
